Conservas Santos Horse Mackerel Fillets, known in Portugal as carapau, are a traditional canned fish speciality from the Algarve. Horse Mackerel belongs to the jack fish family and has leaner protein compared to Mackerel or Sardines. The fillets are seasoned with olive oil, garlic and parsley for a savoury, herby finish. Prepared in the traditional way and packed in a 120g easy open tin, they are ready to eat straight from the can. These horse mackerel make a great meal served with bread, salads or boiled potatoes.
