About the production
Hand-picked thyme from the mountains of Tarragona and Arbequina olives have been pressed together to create a natural condiment based on olive oil and dried thyme that evokes the essence of summer. No artificial flavors or additives have been used. It combines perfectly with roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables and as a base for hummus.
About Azada
Azada was born at the start of 2009 inspired by the founder’s childhood memories. In the 70s his father bought an abandoned plot of land in Tivissa, province of Tarragona. The plot had a small cottage on it which was surrounded by fields of almond and hazelnut trees which had long lost their yield.
His father dreamed of restoring the plot and return to the traditional form of harvesting.
At the beginning they used only a hoe (azada in Spanish, which would later become the name of the project) to harvest the fields. During the following years they bought over 20 additional hectares on which hazelnut, cherry and olive trees could be found. Azada even had a small vineyard where we used to produce our very own wine. The young founder used to make my pocket money selling our produce to the local co-operative in his childhood.
Years later, he returned to the his roots and this piece of land to carry on the produce of olive oil.
